certified tanzanite gems

Tanzanite is one of the rarest gemstones in the world and is found in only one place: a small mining area near Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania. Discovered relatively recently in 1967, tanzanite is prized for its vivid blue to violet hues, which are due to the presence of vanadium and are enhanced through heat treatment.

At first Tanzanite was considered as a more economical option for blue sapphire but, the gorgeous looks of the gemstone earned it a large following – knowledgeable gemstone lovers began to love tanzanite for what it was worth. Tanzanite flourished as a standalone gem, prices and demand have never cooled off since then.

Like ruby, sapphire, emerald and diamonds per carat prices of tanzanite show a steep rise, as the size of the gemstone increases. The demand for high end colored gems soared when, their demand increased in matrimonial jewelry. This was about the same time that, young couples decided that diamonds were not absolutely essential, when it came to engagement and wedding rings. Fine jewelry crafters like Kaisilver, educated jewelry buyers about lesser known gems like tanzanite, spinel and even demantoid garnet.

TANZANITE FOR EVERYONE

Besides looking awesome in all metal colors, tanzanite gems are adored by both men and women. Age, gender and overall style statement do not matter – tanzanite is one statement, that will always give the wearer a refined look. Tanzanite rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants are good options depending on personal preference and price. Kaisilver can even craft a pair of bespoke cufflinks in gold or silver, with tanzanite or any other gemstone of your choice.

TANZANITE FOR MEN

Tanzanite gold rings for men have always featured prominently on our order list. The general trend is for men to choose yellow gold when the gemstone is tanzanite. You could choose white, yellow or pink gold and further specify 10k, 14k or 18k gold. The color of tanzanite gemstones, strikes a much warmer look when set in yellow gold. Just to mention that, Kaisilver maintains the same high standards for both, gold and silver jewelry.

Design is important when it comes to men’s tanzanite rings. This because tanzanite per carat prices, show a sharp increase as the gem size increases. Another significant cost component of men’s gold rings would be the, cost of the gold. With gold prices rising and showing no signs of slowing down, large design formats that require high gold weight to maintain durability, can be quite expensive.

While tanzanite cufflinks are a nice idea, a more popular trend has been to combing a men’s tanzanite ring with a pair of custom tanzanite cufflinks. Since Kaisilver finely handcrafts all types of jewelry in gold or silver, we can work with your design or ours. We place absolutely no restriction on gem selection.

TANZANITE BIRTHSTONE

Tanzanite, with its captivating violet-blue hue and remarkable rarity, quickly gained global recognition and admiration. Found only in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, tanzanite the  single-source gemstone drew significant attention for its unique beauty. A major factor in its rise to prominence was the strategic and generous marketing effort by Tiffany & Co., which introduced tanzanite gems to the international market in the late 1960s and positioned it as an exotic, must-have gem.

The popularity of tanzanite surged, and in 2002, the official birthstone charts were revised to include tanzanite as one of the birthstones for December, alongside two other blue gems namely turquoise and zircon—an extraordinary achievement for a gemstone discovered so recently. Tanzanite the December birthstone was discovered in 1967 in the Merelani Hills, near Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania. The discovery is often credited to a Maasai tribesman named Ali Juuyawatu, though other versions mention different individuals. Regardless of the exact finder, the deposit was quickly recognized for its striking blue-violet gemstones.

KAISILVER TANZANITE GEMSTONES

Whether it is tanzanite or a range of other gemstones, Kaisilver has drastically cut the supply chain for procurement. No middlemen and no commission agents in between. We procure tanzanite gemstones directly from the miners in Tanzania. Since we do not work with a fix inventory, we are in a position to ensure that you always get the best gemstone for the price that you pay.

Tanzanite Color Shades

You can specify the color shade required for your tanzanite gemstones. In general price per carat moves up, from the lighter to the darker color shades of tanzanite. Once we have your color shade choice, you will receive images to confirm that it is the shade of your choice.

  • Color shade A (pale)
  • Color Shade AA (medium)
  • Color Shade AAA (deeper color)
  • Color Shade AAA+ (dark color)

Most fine jewelry with tanzanite gemstones is crafted with AA and AAA color gemstones. These color shades, allow superior light reflection on the facets - this delivers a better sparkle to the tanzanite when seen from the top. While tanzanite AAA+ and above carry premium price tags, the color can often appear too dark, in this case the gemstone absorbs most light that enters the stone. What you see is a dark color, with limited sparkle. By procuring tanzanite gems directly from the source, we are in a position to accommodate requests for all tanzanite color shades.
